AUTOMATIC VOLTAGE REGULATION

PROVIDES STABLE OUTPUT VOLTAGE UNDER ADVERSE LINE CONDITIONS

voltage-regulation

Under ideal conditions, when the supplied power line is stable and dependable, you may not need voltage regulation. In such an ideal situation, your equipment can operate within the normal tolerance of the line voltage. In reality, the power supplied to most areas is less than ideal due to outdated power grids. In most areas, the power regularly drops or rises beyond the acceptable range.

These voltage sags, brownouts, and surges can stress components and shorten equipment life. In the worst case, catastrophic events can destroy valuable equipment. In such real-world conditions, the AVR can protect your equipment, and improve the quality and enjoyment of your audio and video experience.

AVR technology uses a micro-processor to monitor and control the voltage, seamlessly switching the multi-tapped toroidal transformer to ensure the voltage powering your connected equipment remains in the optimal range. In the event of a high or low incoming mains voltage fault condition the unit automatically disconnects power to the connected equipment, adding another level of protection.

AVR Technology supplies Optimum Input Voltage over a Wide Range of Adverse Line Conditions

Torus Automatic Voltage Regulation technology in the AVR ELITE series provides stable voltage to keep equipment running in the optimal range of 116VAC to 124VAC (North America), and +/- 8V on international voltages (220V, 230V, and 240V). The Torus Power AVR ELITE is programmed to turn off power to your equipment on a high or low voltage fault condition. When the input voltage restores to the proper range, the AVR ELITE will automatically restart normal operation
to restore power to your connected equipment.

The Torus Power AVR ELITE includes an attractive front panel LCD display to provide information regarding input and output voltages, output current, power consumption, total harmonic distortion, time and date, as well as displaying fault conditions.

Following are the range of operating input voltage conditions specified for Torus products to maintain optimum input voltage to your equipment.

  • North American models: (15A, 20A): Torus AVR ELITE will keep the output constant within the range of 116 Volts to 124 Volts, with an input voltage of 90V to 130V. Between 85V to 90V, and between 130V and 135V, the regulation will be reduced.

  • North American BAL models: Torus AVR ELITE will keep the output constant within the range of 116 Volts to 124 Volts, with an input voltage of 180V to 260V. Between 170V to 180V, and between 260V and 270V, the regulation will be reduced.

  • International models: Torus AVR ELITE will keep the output constant within the range of 240 ± 8 Volts, with an input voltage of 170V to 180V, and between 170V to 180V, and between 260V and 270V, the regulation will be reduced.
