What do The Rolling Stones, Elvis Costello, and Stevie Ray Vaughan have in common? They have all released albums entitled “Live at the El Mocambo”. On November 4th, 2022, Torus Power’s technical sales rep, Ross Whitney, was privileged to join this elite group by performing at this legendary Toronto nightclub. Ross is the bass guitarist in an eight-piece band called FigLeaf. Check out the performance linked below.
The performance was recorded in high-resolution audio and 4K video by the production team at El Mocambo. Terry Walker of TDS Multimedia led the video team and Doug McClement recorded 30 tracks of high-res Pro Tools audio. Doug’s long resumé includes recording the Live8 Toronto concert – headlined by Neil Young – and the 2003 Toronto Rocks concert that featured Rush, AC/DC, and The Rolling Stones.
Doug also recorded Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble “Live at the El Mocambo” which was first released on VHS and later on DVD.
The band has its own YouTube channel, and they have uploaded 4K videos of several songs to the channel. Here’s the link – check it out!
