Torus Power PIUs are transformer based products using toroidal technology developed over 25 years by Plitron Manufacturing.  www.plitron.com

Torus Power products provide a smarter, simpler, and more effective technology to clean up dirty mains power.

Relying soley on original transformer based NBT technology , Torus Power products restore incoming power to it's clean original state – without the use of external components or circuitry.

    Restore Incoming Mains

Powered by Plitron’s innovative patented transformer technology and design expertise, Torus Power conditioners restore incoming power to its clean original state, while removing insidious noise and transients collected en route.

Although a virtually pure sine wave at the generated source, non linear loads and asymmetries encountered during transmission feed radiated emissions back onto the common grid, and power arriving at the load is contaminated with harmonic distortion and various unwanted electrical noises.

Torus Power’s simple, advanced but elegant solution resolves incoming power quality problems by harnessing the transformers combined inherent inductance, capacitances, and resistance characteristics to act as a filter, thus exceptionally high levels of attenuation are attained with absolutely no reliance on any external components.

Through the elimination of filters, series inductors, shunt capacitors, or other passive reactive devices commonly required in the power circuit, Torus products start with a noise floor at the theoretically lowest level.

Irregular line conditions are no problem for Torus Power Conditioners. Available on Torus products, Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) continuously monitors incoming mains to detect high and low line conditions, and then seamlessly and instantaneously triggers compensating circuitry to ensure the voltages powering your equipment are always optimal.

Relying solely on ‘Narrow Bandwidth Transformer Technology,’ (NBT) in combination with Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR), Torus products provide a smarter, simpler and yet more effective technique to achieving clean power – which is the only possible circumstance in which audio and video equipment can achieve optimum performance and meet the manufacturer’s printed specifications.

    Automatic Voltage Regulation

Torus Power AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulation) is a full-feature state-of-the-art power conditioner and voltage stabilizer. Torus voltage stabilization keeps equipment in the optimal voltage operating range (115VAC to 125VAC in North America) regardless of fluctuations in line voltages. International versions are also available for Continental Europe, UK, and Asia/Australia. More about Torus AVR

    Narrow Bandwidth Technology

NBT power transformers substantially attenuate differential and common mode noise, eliminating requirements for external circuits such as low-pass filters.

    NBT Attenuation Curves

Starting at 2 kHz, NBT attenuates the incoming line to -65 db at 1 mHz, with no external components or circuitry. A comparison of other technologies is shown in the chart.  Click on Image To Enlarge

    Ultra Electrostatic Screen

UST is a highly effective electrostatic screen which capacitively couples high frequency noise to ground while maintaining the best possible inter-winding transfer at power frequencies.
